Our story began with two mates fresh out of university, who chose a
backpack and a one-way ticket over a nine-to-five. Six weeks in Colombia turned
into four years of travelling the world, and we’ve never looked back.

During our extensive time in Central and South America, we fell in
love with the landscapes, the people, and most of all, the coffee. While it was
“dos cervezas por favor” in the evening, it was coffee in our hands throughout
the day. From early mornings in mountain farms to chats with passionate café
owners, we discovered the intricate processes behind each harvest, the
challenges of sustainable farming, and the immense pride that comes with
cultivating something truly remarkable.  

There were unforgettable moments: hand-picking ripe cherries in the
Colombian hills, learning how volcanic soil affects flavour in Nicaragua, or
simply sharing a brew with a local chap on a dusty roadside. These experiences
inspired a deep appreciation for the craft behind every cup.

At Gringo Roasters, we’ve blended that passion for coffee with our
love for travel. Our mission is to create the ultimate backpackers’
coffee - bold, exciting, and rooted in the spirit of adventure. With
every bag, we hope to bring a taste of the journey to your cup.
